Local Business Donates Web Design Services to Catherine’s Closet, Inc.

Little Falls, NJ July 18, 2003 -- BZA (www.bza.com), a web development and graphic design firm located in Little Falls, recently donated their web site design services to Catherine’s Closet, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to providing donated gowns and dresses to high school students located in the Newark, New Jersey area.

The site, www.catherinescloset.org, provides an online resource for accessing more information about the organization and its efforts to make a positive difference in the lives of teenage girls.

Earlier this year BZA donated the organization’s identity including a logo, flyer, and business cards. “When I came across the recent article in People Magazine about Catherine’s Closet, I knew they needed a web site ASAP. I called Sandy and offered to do the web site pro-bono. She was thrilled as her phone was ringing off the hook.“ said Barbara Zaccone, President of BZA. “ With so much publicity, they now just refer people to the web site, which answers most of their questions,” claims Zaccone.

With prom gowns donated by individuals, community organizations, and garment manufacturers, Catherine’s Closet, Inc. is able to provide high school students in need of formal wear with current fashionable dresses they can wear to their prom. In addition, the organization also awards scholarships, provides mentors, and offers internships to students in need.

The web site provides information such as how individuals and organizations can donate and where students can go to try on prom gowns. It also includes a photo gallery and testimonials where site visitors can see and read first hand about the students who have benefitted from Catherine’s Closet.

“With the site being up for only a few weeks, it has been a great asset to us, ” said Dr. Sandra Kessler, founder of Catherine’s Closet, Inc. “It has already proven to be an excellent tool in communicating our inspiration and our efforts to improve the self-image and confidence of young girls.”

That inspiration is to honor the memory of Catherine Johnson, a 17 year-old high school student and Valedictorian from East Orange, New Jersey who was tragically killed when an adolescent driving a stolen car crashed into her vehicle.

Catherine’s Closet, Inc., continues to work with women’s organizations and garment manufacturers to develop programs where members can donate prom dresses.
